Broadcast Assassin: How successful was The Guild's "Avatar" video? Very.

In a wall post on Facebook today, The Guild asked their fans to tell them how they found the show.

The results surprised me. With just under 250 respondents at the time I whipped out excel and started tallying, I felt there was a relatively significant sample size to work with. This is how…

Well, if we were to be hardcore about statistics, you can’t really go by this kind of quick and dirty poll… while the FB page reaches a large pool of people, they’re skewed as they’re already engaged fans, etc.  Plus, by choosing the first 250 (there are now 1854 comments), you’re looking at a subset of a subset of a subset… but there are definitely some interesting results that popped up, particularly in the outliers (someone mentioned the JoCo/Felicia performance of “Still Alive” at PAX2008 as where they first heard about it).  I also think it’s mostly a statistical anomaly that the music video outdoes Netflix and Xbox combined, in part because (anecdotally, at least) I know Netflix has been (and continues to be) a huge avenue of discovery for the show.  Don’t want to come off as a wet blanket here, as I’m totally a “whip out a spreadsheet and crunch these numbers” kind of guy too :)
